History of Terra Empty

The Beginning

The chaos that surrounds Terra has not always existed... The gods have not always been so self-centered as to use mortals as play things in their games. Once, there was peace and prosperity for all. Once, every god was peaceful with each other, and once long ago the mortals were spared from the games of the gods.

No god, and especially no mortal, is truly sure how Terra began and formed. At best some gods are old enough to know of the Unknown one, the unnamed all mighty god who once ruled Terra. The Unknown one was an unchallenged leader of Terra, even among the gods. It was he who created Terra, it was he who created the races that inhabit, and it was he who divided the domains among the gods. He was all mighty, all knowing, and all powerful. He was thought to be Terra itself, so powerful that it could only make sense if he was as big as an earthly body. Under the Unknown one, Terra was peaceful. Every being prospered, and death was known only as an effect of time. That is, until He died.

It was nothing surprising to know that the gods would eventually become jealous of their own creator. Jealous of his all mighty power, jealous of his ability to create the gods themselves. Truly, that was his only mistake. To create life and peace He thought it would be right to divide the domains into the gods, but he was wrong. The gods had come to the conclusion that because they were in fact entities that had been duplicated from the various fractions that made Him, that if they were to unite their power would indeed be as great as Him himself. Unfortunately, they were correct. United they could take His power, united they could break the entity that created their ever growing envy.

When they forged their powers together, the Unknown one lost sight of them. Moving as if one being, the combined gods were a complete equal to Him, and so he could not keep his ever-loving sight on them. They were his equal, but at the same time they were not, for they had advantages... Advantages in the form of Sin. They lusted for His power, envied His being, wished for Him to feel their wrath, greedily wished for his ability, wished for his ability to act slothful, felt the gluttony for His flesh, and the pride of their selfish pathetic existence. With these seven sins they wished for His death, something that He didn't wish for to the gods. Thus, with the last advantage of surprise, the gods dealt their sinful blow. With such powerful beings that were equal in every way, and it would all come down to the first blow. Not wishing to harm his beloved creations, it was obvious who would win the fight this fight between divine beings. With one swing, they pierced the heart of His fleshy form, forever changing the fate of Terra.

At first, there was silence. It seemed everything had stopped for eternity as the death of Him took effect on Terra. And then, there was chaos. Simply put, it was just chaos. It had been true that in a sense He was Terra, in a fashion that he was part of Terra. With apart of the world you're living on torn from the rest of the body, it naturally triggered unearthly devastation. Every matter of natural disaster that you could think of took place simultaneously. Earthquakes could be felt world-round, tidal waves smashed every inch they could, every volcano that could would erupt. It was literally chaos... But that was only the beginning. The sudden loss of physical energy created a vacuum in space and time on Terra, in the direction of the blow that pierced His heart. The vacuum started by twisting and carving Terra from the reverse direction of the blow, completely devastating the land now known as Verlaat into the desert it is seen as today. In the other direction, it was much worse. Some gods believe it was the massive amount of energy being released... Others believe it was Terra being literally scarred by the attack. Either way, the demonic line of blight created was obvious now. It had seemed to phase out of nowhere, summoning legions of demonic and undead hordes that had seemed to manifest out of the chaotic uncontrolled energy. The once great land that had surrounded the Tower of Him was instantly turned to decay and rot, most mortals being killed in the process. The once great city that had grown to be bigger than some of the continents had been torn into two, allowing the demonic beasts that were born from the blight to be let loose directly in the city. No one truly knows how far that scar goes on.. Some same just as the decay is spreading every day, so is the scar, and eventually it will reach completely around Terra, connect to the start of the blight, and split the world in half.

So great was the loss of power, the loss of knowledge, and the loss of energy, was that all knowledge of him had seemed to be lost. The vacuum of energy had literally torn the knowledge from the beings of Terra's minds. Not even the gods could recall His true name, no one could recall how he was born, why he bore the gods, and how he had maintained absolute peace among the Terran races. Only the oldest and wisest of the gods that had been the center piece of the fusion of energies between the gods would even remember Him being there at all. Mortals would forever lose any recognition they may have of Him, and any text written on Him would vanish.

From that point on, the loss would forever cause simple chaos. The gods would once again divide and start their jealous rage all over again, this time against each other. Without Him to maintain order, the gods would see mortals as their mere play things. War would erupt from what was once peace, and with two of the biggest continents devastated by the warping energies of His death, many of the races devolved into barbaric like war hungering monstrosities. The chaotic energies that now enveloped the land would lead to new forms of demi-gods and other demonic entities, the likes of which that had not been intentionally created by the gods... As it had been before.
