Well, as you should already know, the term god-modding is born from the word "God" itself, and thus having actual gods in a site can be troubling. Even if having a selective group of people that can make god characters is active, it won't mean that the gods will never abuse their powers. Thus, i'm stating some facts and guidelines to clearly set out what a god can and can't do, and how a god should perform their godly duties.

Powers

A god's powers are based around their domain. It'll make sense if the god of the sea can travel quickly between any point in the sea, as it makes sense a god of wind and air can travel quickly through the air. If there was such one(Probably won't be), a god of speed would be able to speed around land quickly, as it would make sense with that being their domain. This applies to most every aspect of a god's powers... The god of sea can summon tidal waves, but he's not going to be able to do it over dry land. Common sense is the most important aspect to a god's powers. Most of the circumstances of the abilities of a god will be covered in their registration, however outside that it is fairly simple: A god only has powers related to their domain, and whenever they use these powers it must be within sense. The god of sea can do pretty much whatever the hell he wants with powers related to water and the sea, but it doesn't make any sense at all if he does it over land. A god of wind could summon powerful bursts of wind and air, but not underground or underwater. Always remember if a god does something unreasonable, you can simply stop posting and wait for an administrator or webmaster to define if they're being within reason.

Blessings

Blessings, simply put, our divine gifts of items, enchantment, abilities, and/or power given to lesser beings by gods. Typically, a blessing must be similar to the god's power, must be within their domain, blah blah blah. To receive a blessing, though, the person MUST have done something to logically gain the god's favor. Within the blessing registration you will be asked what you did to receive the blessing, what the blessing is, how the blessing is bestowed, and what the purpose behind the blessing is. Yes, purpose. A god of wisdom doesn't randomly go around granting everyone wisdom and knowledge, for that would create a society that would not grow and most likely become ignorant when new knowledge and wisdom is revealed. The god of the sea doesn't go around blessing everyone's ship, for that would make it pointless to create better naval boats.

Most details involving blessings and such will be handled when they're registered, but as a simple reminder and guideline remember this: A blessing should remain true to the god's domain... However, it may not also be exactly related. A siren is a being of the sea and a denizen of the god of the sea, and thus it would be natural for that god to bless the siren with better singing and beauty to lure sailors in to their death more easily, because that does make sense and remain true to the domain. The god of the sun would naturally be affiliated with fire, and could within reason bless a warrior's sword with a fiery impact. Hell, if you could make up a logical purpose for it, the god of the moon could in theory grant someone with a moonly glow, because it does remain within their domain. Again, common sense and little details would be key here, and most problems would be solved when a blessing is registered.
